Parish of the municipality of São João da Pesqueira, district of Viseu and is in the "heart" of the Douro, where the traditional and genuine harmonize with the most advanced production techniques in the most diverse wineries on several farms in the region. This place is recognized as the largest producer of fortified wine in the Demarcated Douro region and with the largest area in the World Heritage Site.
Located in Ervedosa do Douro, at an altitude of 600 meters, the Bonifata terroir is unique, surrounded by olive trees and fruit trees, therefore rich in biodiversity and through agricultural work throughout the vegetative cycle, a unique ecosystem is formed, conducive to wine of exceptional quality.
Here, the olive grove and the vineyards are part of the lives of men with calloused hands, authentic titanic men, whose work results in a landscape of undulating geography, unique, singular, giving life to products of enormous cultural and economic value, the Generoso wine, and the consumer DOC, highly appreciated among the general public, as well as among great winemakers and chefs.
This vineyard consists of several plots (articles) totaling 28,863sqm, also including a traditional olive grove, very well cared for, and whose production averages around 180/200 liters of olive oil, of exceptional quality, extra virgin.

Selected grape varieties: the red varieties are Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and the dye variety, Sousão;
the olive grove is made up of 62 olive trees;

Coming from the city of Porto, take the A4 and exit at Amarante, then follow the N15 towards Mesão Frio/Régua. Follow the EN222 towards S. João da Pesqueira, and here the World Heritage Viewpoints Tourist Circuit begins.
Before reaching the village of S. João da Pesqueira, take the M501 towards Soutelo do Douro.
Coming from the city of Lisbon, take the A1 to Coimbra, exit onto IP3. Continue onto the A24 in the direction of Vila Real and after passing Lamego, leave the A24 and take the N313 towards Régua, take the N222, follow the marginal road to the Douro River and when you reach the territory of S. João da Pesqueira, you will find- It will be in Bateiras. Follow the EN222 towards S. João da Pesqueira, and here the World Heritage Viewpoints Tourist Circuit begins. Before reaching the village of S. João da Pesqueira, take the M501 towards Soutelo do Douro.
Access to the viewpoint has a narrow paved road, which is why the visit must be made by car or minibus. Parking is limited.
By train: Take the Douro line train in Porto and get off at Pinhão station.
